Arsenal midfielder expected to sign new long-term deal

The Italy international signed for the Gunners in a surprise move from Chelsea last year and he has since been a key player for them. Jorginho's present deal expires in June this year, but there is an option for another year. It is now reported that he will pen a new deal. The proposal has already been made to the former Blues star and he is expected to put pen-to-paper on the contract in the near future. While Jorginho's future is safe at the club, there continues to remain uncertainty over Thomas Partey ahead of the summer transfer window . Partey has recently returned to the starting plans of manager Mikel Arteta , but he could be sold as he enters the final year of his contract. With his persistent injury woes over the years, the Gunners are most likely to cash in rather than lose him on a free transfer next year.
