RB Leipzig star confirms he snubbed Man Utd move
RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko has confirmed that he turned down a move to Manchester United in the summer of 2022.
The young Slovenian was on the radar of the Red Devils last year, but he decided to sign for Salzburg's sister club Leipzig instead.
As part of the agreement, the 20-year-old continued with Salzburg last season before joining the Bundesliga giants this summer.
Speaking to Transfermarkt, Sesko has now confirmed that he turned down United and he chose Leipzig for familiarity in playing style.
He said: "The thing is, I wasn't really involved in these kinds of conversations. But I think it was better to come here."
"It was very important for me to go to a place that plays a similar style of football. I already knew what I had to do and didn't have to go through a whole learning process again."
United suffered a huge setback in the pursuit of Sesko, but they now have an equally talented striker in Rasmus Hojlund in their ranks.
Hojlund was signed from Atalanta for big money last summer, and he has already been dubbed as the new Erling Braut Haaland by many.
