According to RTL, Udinese have lodged a bid to sign Dutch international Eljero Elia from Istanbul Basaksehir.

The 31-year-old winger has only made eight appearances for the Turkish side and appears to have fallen further down the pecking order after the signing of Robinho.

RTL is reporting that Udinese are seriously interested in Elia and have made an official bid to bring him back to Italy, where he spent a year at Juventus in 2011.

The former Twente, Werder Bremen, Southampton and Feyenoord winger has been with Istanbul Basaksehir since 2017. He has made 41 appearances for the club, scoring eight goals.

Neres still has a contract until mid-2022 but stands open to a move. Ajax are also hoping to sign Mexican winger Diego Lainez this month and may be tempted into selling if another offer comes in.

Neres has scored four goals and contributed eight assists in 28 appearances for Ajax this season.
