On Monday, Feyenoord confirmed that Jaap Stam had decided to stand down after the 4-0 loss against Ajax.
Voetbal International then reported that Dick Advocaat was Feyenoord’s first choice as they seek an experienced manager to take charge until the summer.
Speaking to NPO Radio 1, Advocaat confirmed he has been approached, “I find it very difficult to lie, but that they are interested, that is true.”
He then added, “Feyenoord will make a decision about what they will do and then they will make it known,”
The 72-year-old would only be a stop gap before the club appoint a new long-term head coach in the summer.
