Sven Botman’s late equaliser earned Heerenveen a 1-1 draw at ADO Den Haag.
Heerenveen were dealt a blow in the warm-up with Mitchell van Bergen forced out injured and Alen Halilovic.
The visitors thought they had the lead in the first half when Jens Odgaard found the net but it was ruled out for offside.
Fifteen minutes into the second half, Crysencio Summerville was brought down in the box and ADO Den Haag took the lead through a Michiel Kramer penalty.
That seemed like it was going to be the only goal of the game but in the 87th minute, Sven Botman headed in at the back post to earn Heerenveen a point.
Heerenveen sit seventh while ADO Den Haag are 14th.
Utrecht made it three wins in a row with a 6-0 hammering of Fortuna Sittard.
Utrecht went into the game full of confidence and it showed from the start with Gyrano Kerk giving the hosts the lead after only four minutes.
It was 2-0 in the 15th minute as Kerk turned provider to find Sander van de Streek with an excellent outside of the foot pass, and the midfielder finished past Alexei Koselev.
After half-an-hour, Amadou Ciss fouled Van de Streek from a corner and Utrecht were awarded a penalty, which Simon Gustafson scored to make it 3-0.
On the hour mark, Gustafson set Van de Streek in on goal and he slotted in his second for Utrecht’s fourth. Another penalty was then awarded for a foul on Van de Streek, and Gustafson made no mistake for the fifth.
Simon Makienok then came off the bench to score and make the final score 6-0 for the hosts.
Utrecht are now fourth and hot on the heels of PSV Eindhoven, while Fortuna Sittard are 16th.
