Despite links with the vacant Bayern Munich job, Erik ten Hag has confirmed he will not leave Ajax before the end of the season.

Ten Hag was quickly linked with the position after Niko Kovac was sacked by the German giants on Sunday.

However, speaking at his press conference on Monday, Ten Hag committed his future to Ajax.

He said, “I can confirm that I will stay with Ajax.

“I have a strong bond with my team and everyone at Ajax, so I finish the season at Ajax. Bayern is a beautiful club, I had a fantastic time there, the club is in my heart, but my focus is entirely on Ajax. Whether they have contacted, I will not comment on that, it is now about the game tomorrow. “

Ten Hag emerges as candidate for Bayern Munich

Speculation is rife in Germany that Ajax boss Erik ten Hag is one of the candidates to become the new head coach of Bayern Munich.

After their 5-1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt, Bayern Munich announced that Niko Kovac had been sacked.

According to German Sky Sports, Bayern Munich have identified Ten Hag as their top candidate and have made contact with Ajax. However, the Amsterdammers are unwilling to let the 49-year-old leave halfway through the season.

Bayern Munich may look to appoint a temporary head coach until the summer until they can appoint Ten Hag, who has already worked at the German club as head coach of their B team between 2013 and 2015.

According to BILD, Ten Hag is one of the candidates but Italian coach Massimiliano Allegri is favourite due to his availability now.

PSG, Man Utd and Tottenham make contact for Onana

According to De Telegraaf, several top European clubs are interested in signing Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana.

The Cameroon international was subject to interest from Barcelona and PSG last summer but Onana decided he wanted to remain in Amsterdam for another year. Onana then extended his contract until 2022.

According to De Telegraaf, the list of interested clubs is growing with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur making contact with Onana’s agent Albert Botines, along with PSG.

Ajax are not going to let their number one leave on the cheap with a fee of €40-50 million hanging over Onana’s head.
