Toby Alderweireld has appeared to rule out a return to Ajax in the future as he prefers to finish his career in Belgium.

Jan Vertongthen has been heavily linked with a return to Ajax when his contract with Tottenham expires, but his teammate Toby Alderweireld appears to have different plans.
Speaking to Sporza, Alderweireld spoke about his plans for after his Tottenham deal runs out in 2023, “I am thinking about returning to Belgium afterwards. I just miss Belgium.
“I was trained at Germinal Ekeren and Beerschot. I am a Beerschot supporter, but I am also a huge fan of Antwerp football as a whole. I am happy that the Antwerp teams are starting to mean something in Belgium.”
Alderweireld joined the Ajax academy in 2004 and left for Atletico Madrid nine years later.
