Ajax set asking price for Man Utd and Liverpool target
Manchester United and Liverpool will have to pay €50 million to sign Ajax defender Jurrien Timber this summer.
The Dutchman was a top target for the Red Devils last summer but he decided to stay with Ajax for another 12 months.
Timber recently confirmed that he will be leaving in the next transfer window but he is unlikely to come on the cheap.
As per journalist Florian Plettenberg , Ajax don't want to lose their prized asset unless they receive a fee of €50 million.
The Dutch champions are yet to receive any formal proposals for the centre-back but there is plenty of transfer interest.
United are obviously planning a renewed approach for the Netherlands ace but they could face competition from Liverpool .
The Red Devils could have the upper hand in the pursuit, considering the strong relationship of Timber and Erik ten Hag.
Ten Hag handed him his senior debut at the Amsterdam outfit. Timber could be tempted to reunite with his ex-manager.
