Barcelona pushing to sign Arsenal's top striker target
Barcelona are keen on signing Arsenal target Alexander Isak at the end of the campaign, according to Sport.
The Catalan giants currently have Robert Lewandowski leading the line for them. The Poland international has been in exemplary form with 20 goals and two assists from 18 appearances.
The hierarchy are clearly pleased with the Pole's performances, but they are still looking into the future, considering Lewandowski is 36 and could be past his prime in the coming years.
Sport today claim that the Blaugrana are set to provide stiff competition to the Gunners in the pursuit of Isak, who is likely to leave Newcastle United at the end of current season.
Isak has turned down a new contract with the Magpies due to the lack of progress and he is determined to play Champions League football elsewhere if they don't qualify.
Arsenal have identified him as their top striker target for next summer, but now face competition from the Blaugrana. Isak is expected to cost at least £100 million, as per reports.
