Erik ten Hag has asked Man Utd to sign 28yo Dutchman
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has asked the club's hierarchy to sign Inter Milan right-back Denzel Dumfries this summer.
The Netherlands international has been a long-term target for the Red Devils and he was initially linked after the Euros in 2021.
The speculation has continued over the past few years and Inter Live claim that Ten Hag would like to bring him to Old Trafford.
United have made the decision to part ways with Aaron Wan-Bissaka and there is a possibility of a swap deal between the clubs.
Wan-Bissaka has already agreed terms with Inter and it remains to be seen whether the hierarchy give the green light for the deal.
Dumfries does not possess the defensive attributes of Wan-Bissaka, but he is much better going forward than the 26-year-old.
The Dutchman is one of the best when it comes to making overlapping runs. He can also provide key passes from the right flank.
He could be signed for £10m if Wan-Bissaka goes the other way as part of the deal. Both players have entered the last year of their contracts.
