Man Utd finally agree deal to sign 24yo UCL star
Manchester United have finally reached an agreement to sign Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt, according to The Athletic.
The Red Devils have been in constant negotiations with Bayern for the Dutchman and they have eventually sealed the deal.
United will pay an initial €45 million for the Netherlands international with a further €5m in the form of performance add-ons.
De Ligt has already accepted terms over a five-year contract. He is expected to sign the same following his medical on Sunday.
The arrival of the 24-year-old should provide some relief for United, who are without new signing Leny Yoro for three months.
Yoro sustained an ankle injury in pre-season against Arsenal and he subsequently underwent a surgery earlier this week.
Meanwhile, United are also expected to land the signature of Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern in the next 24 to 48 hours.
They have agreed a fee in the region of €15m with €5m in add-ons. He is expected to join as soon as Aaron Wan-Bissaka leaves.
