Chelsea have ended talks to sign Spanish striker
Chelsea have ended talks to sign Spanish striker Samu Omorodion from Atletico Madrid this summer, according to The Athletic.
The Blues recently reached an agreement with Atletico for the marksman and he also travelled to London to undergo his medical tests.
However, the deal broke down at the final hurdle over image rights. Chelsea wanted to buy only 50 percent which Omorodion declined.
The striker felt the proposal was disrespectful and he has now returned to Madrid. Omorodion could stay at Atletico this campaign.
Despite the setback, Chelsea are still searching for a new striker and Victor Osimhen remains a possible target ahead of the deadline.
The Nigerian has been reluctant to lower his wages to join the Blues while he is also not keen on signing on loan with a buy option.
It remains to be seen whether the Blues can change his stance in the coming days. The hierarchy could try and persuade him into a move.
