Chelsea interested in signing £50m PL striker
Chelsea have opened talks with Brentford over the potential transfer of Ivan Toney before the transfer deadline.
The Blues are determined to sign a marquee striker this week and they are now looking into a deal for Toney.
The 28-year-old has been the subject of interest from Al-Ahli, but he is open to staying in the Premier League.
Chelsea have initiated contact with the Bees, but the striker won't come on the cheap, according to The Telegraph .
Brentford recently received £50 million from Al-Ahli and the Blues will have to match the same transfer package.
Meanwhile, Toney's wage demands could be another stumbling block.
The striker is eyeing a salary package of £250,000 per week, but the Blues may not pay over £150,000 weekly.
Hence, a transfer is far from straightforward. There is also interest from other top clubs in the Premier League.
We won't be surprised if Arsenal consider a late swoop for the Englishman after a fresh injury for Gabriel Jesus .
