Arsenal in talks to sign Raheem Sterling on loan
Arsenal have entered talks with Chelsea to sign Raheem Sterling on loan before the transfer deadline later tonight.
The England international has been deemed surplus to requirements by the Blues and he is free to move on from the club.
Arsenal are not in a position to sign him permanently, but talks are underway over a temporary deal before the 11pm deadline.
Sterling is prepared to accept a huge pay-cut with the Gunners and the focus is now on finding an agreement with the Blues.
Arsenal seem reluctant to pay a loan fee for the winger, but the Blues are likely to demand at least £5 million for his services.
Negotiations are ongoing between the London giants and a middle ground could be reached for a loan deal in a short while.
Sterling has a very strong relationship with manager Mikel Arteta from their time together at Manchester City in the past.
Arteta believes Sterling can have a good influence on the squad, considering his experience and winning mentality.
