Scott McTominay praises Man Utd star after Nations League game
Napoli midfielder Scott McTominay heaped praise on Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes following the Nations League game between Scotland and Portugal.
McTominay stunned the Portuguese faithful with an early goal in the seven minute last night, but Fernandes pulled the hosts level before the hour mark.
Cristiano Ronaldo eventually grabbed the headlines with the winning goal in the 88th minute. Fernandes was handed the man of the match for a superb showing.
Aside from his goal, the birthday man won 100 percent of his tackles. He completed 100 percent of his long balls with a pass accuracy of almost 90 percent.
Fernandes created six chances for his teammates and also made eight recoveries in the game. It was an outstanding night for the United skipper in Lisbon.
Speaking after the game, McTominay was full of praise for his former captain, he said: "I played with Bruno for many years and he is an incredible player and person.
"He helped me a lot in my career. I am very grateful to him. I wish him every success."
McTominay left United for Napoli last month and he will be aiming to make his debut in Sunday's Serie A game against Cagliari on the road.
