Man Utd set to battle Real Madrid for Spanish talent
Manchester United are set to compete with Real Madrid to land the signature of Juanlu Sanchez from Sevilla, according to AS.
The 21-year-old has had an impressive year for club and country. He has established himself as a regular starter for the La Liga outfit and has also made a good impression at the national level.
Sanchez was recently part of Spain's Olympic squad in Paris. He was consistent with his performances and stood out in the semi-final against Morocco, scoring a late winning goal.
It is now reported that the Spaniard has caught the eye of the Red Devils and they are prepared to go head-to-head with Madrid, who are long-term admirers of the versatile playmaker.
Sanchez has the ability to play at right-back or in the centre of the park. In the current campaign, he has operated from the heart of the midfield for Sevilla, providing a single assist.
The youngster has a low release clause worth €20 million in his contract and it remains to be seen whether United trigger the fee in January or at the end of the season.
