Mikel Arteta drops huge update on Martin Odegaard
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has dropped a huge injury update on Martin Odegaard ahead of the Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
The north London giants suffered a potential setback in midweek as Odegaard sustained an ankle injury. He was in grimacing in pain as he was substituted on Norway duty.
Initial reports claimed that the 25-year-old could be sidelined for the next three weeks, but Arteta has hinted that there is an outside chance that he could be available on Sunday.
He said: "We need some more tests. Let’s see what happens in the next day or so. This afternoon probably. Let’s see the extent of the injury and how quickly we can get him back.
"Martin wants to be here every day but we have to wait and see. I leave that to the doctor. He’s willing and he wants to be present in every game. We need to make sure we know first how good he is or not."
Arsenal are currently on seven points after three games into the campaign and they will be aiming to beat Spurs on the road for the third-straight season.
It won't be easy for them. Declan Rice and Mikel Merino are ruled out with suspension and injury respectively. Odegaard's absence would be another setback.
