Erik ten Hag confirms double injury blow for Man Utd after Southampton win
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed a double injury blow following the 3-0 Premier League win over Southampton on the road.
The Red Devils returned to winning ways with a hard-fought 3-0 win over the Saints away from home. Matthijs de Ligt,
Marcus Rashford and
Alejandro Garnacho scored the goals for the Mancunian giants.
In the same game, Noussair Mazraoui and Lisandro Martinez were replaced with knocks and speaking after the game, Ten Hag said: "Hopefully it’s nothing serious, we have to assess it today, or tomorrow and then we can see."
United have had plenty of defensive injury concerns over the past 18 months and they will be hoping that Mazraoui and Martinez have not suffered any setbacks in the recent trip to the South Coast.
The Red Devils will be on Carabao Cup duty against Barnsley at home in midweek and there is a high possibility that Martinez and Mazraoui won't be available for the third-round tie at Old Trafford.
