Man Utd battling Spurs to sign former graduate?
Manchester United could compete with Tottenham Hotspur to land Lille midfielder Angel Gomes at the end of the season, according to Givemesport.
Gomes left the Red Devils for the French outfit on a free transfer in 2020 and he has since transformed into a key player for them.
However, the Englishman could leave Lille next summer. His contract expires next summer and he has no plans of renewing it.
His availability has caught the eye of Spurs in recent months, but reports claim that United could look to re-sign their academy graduate.
Erik ten Hag has sent scouts to monitor the 24-year-old and find out whether he can adapt to the current playing style at United.
Gomes is on a weekly salary of £12,000 per week and he will reportedly demand a huge hike to £150,000 weekly for a free transfer.
The young playmaker is aware that clubs would be willing to pay him big, should he walk away from Lille at the end of the season.
