Arsenal handed huge boost in signing 24yo star
Arsenal have been handed a huge boost in signing Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak amid his reluctance to pen a new contract, according to talkSPORT.
The Sweden international has been an important player for the Magpies since his arrival from Real Sociedad. He has netted 32 goals from just 57 league games.
Arsenal are known to be huge admirers of him and they have been handed a potential boost with the striker yet to commit to a new long-term contract.
Isak is presently on £120,000 per week until the summer of 2028 and the Magpies seem prepared to reward him with a pay rise for his progress.
However, the 24-year-old is not satisfied with the proposal on the table.
He wants to become the club's highest earner ahead of midfielder Bruno Guimaraes , who is presently on a weekly salary of around £160,000.
On top of this, Isak wants the Magpies to insert a release clause too. Until his demands are met, he has no desire to commit his future to them.
