Man Utd now fully focused on signing 26yo striker
Manchester United are now fully focused on signing Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres next summer, according to Florian Plettenberg.
The Red Devils currently have Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee as their main strikers, but Marcus Rashford has also played there in the past.
Despite this, manager Ruben Amorim seems to be eyeing an upgrade and Plettenberg claims that concrete talks have been held for Gyokeres.
The club are determined to secure a summer agreement for the 26-year-old, but a transfer could ultimately depend on a possible striker exit.
Zirkzee has been linked with a return to Serie A over the past few weeks. The Dutchman could be shown the exit door to compensate for Gyokeres.
United are not alone in the pursuit of the Swede. Manchester City are also pushing hard to land him despite having Erling Haaland in their ranks.
Sporting's sporting director Hugo Viana has agreed to join City in the summer and he is looking to bring Gyokeres alongside him to the club.
