Chelsea open talks to sign 21-year-old PL striker?
Chelsea have reportedly opened talks to sign Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap ahead of the turn of the year.
The Blues presently have
Nicolas Jackson and
Christopher Nkunku as their main strikers, but the former is the number one choice.
Jackson has been almost ever-present leading the line in the Premier League. This has led to speculation that Nkunku could leave soon.
Amidst this, the Blues are working on a possible replacement if Nkunku leaves. They have made initial contact with the agent of Delap.
Delap joined the Tractor Boys on a permanent deal from Manchester City last summer. He has been brilliant with six goals in the top-flight.
The 21-year-old is open to pursuing a bigger challenge elsewhere, but the big question is whether Chelsea can successfully land his signature.
City have a buy-back clause in the region of £40 million and they could exercise the option to prevent the Blues from landing Delap's services.
