Benfica eyeing surprise swoop for Chelsea attacker?
Benfica are considering a surprise swoop for Chelsea attacker Joao Felix when the transfer window reopens next month, according to O Jogo.
The Portugal international rejoined the Blues from Atletico Madrid last summer, but he has yet to establish himself as a key player at the club.
Felix has largely played in the Cup and European competitions and he has been restricted to appearances off the bench in the Premier League.
This has led to speculation that he could pursue a new challenge and reports claim that his former club Benfica are exploring a loan deal this winter.
The Primeira Liga giants are also willing to include an obligation to buy at the end of the campaign based on certain objectives being achieved.
Sporting CP looked like they were running away with the title with 10 wins out of 10, but have managed only seven points in the last five games.
Benfica have moved to the top of the table as a result. They are aiming to strengthen their title pursuit with the acquisition of Felix this winter.
