Former Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel has hinted that his son, Kasper Schmeichel, is not entirely happy at Leicester City and could decide to leave the club.

Kasper Schmeichel has been with Leicester since 2011, making more than 300 appearances for the club and playing a key role in their 2015-16 Premier League title-winning campaign.

The 32-year-old has a contract at the King Power Stadium until the summer of 2023, but his father has suggested that Claude Puel's presence as head coach is making the Dane unhappy.

Peter Schmeichel told BeIN Sports: "Leicester City are a really good football club. They've got good players they just don't have the manager who can get the best out of them.

"Once they get everything sorted out - and I leave it to you to interpret what that means - you'll see Leicester maybe in fifth to eighth place where they belong."

Leicester's 3-1 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday has left them in 12th position in the Premier League table.

Maurizio Sarri admits job risk after Chelsea's humiliation at Manchester City

The west London side had come into the game searching for their first away win of the year but they were simply stunned after going down 4-0 within the opening 30 minutes.

Thereafter, the Blues tried their utmost to find the scoresheet but they were eventually on the wrong side of a heavy embarrassment with the Citizens thumping them by a further two goals in the end.

Speaking after the match, Sarri acknowledged that his job with the club always remains at risk but he would rather focus on the league proceedings after the latest setback on the road.

“I don’t know, you have to ask the club. I am worried about my team, I am worried about the performance but my job is always at risk so I am not worried about the club. You have to ask the club," he told Sky Sports .

With the defeat, Chelsea have failed to score in the past three away matches where they have conceded a staggering 12 goals. They have now dropped to sixth in the standings behind Arsenal on the number of goals scored.

Paul Clement hints Sarri will be sacked as Chelsea boss because owner will not accept defeat

FORMER Chelsea assistant manager Paul Clement believes it's only a matter of time before Maurizio Sarri gets the chop.

The 47-year-old - who spent four years at Stamford Bridge between 2007-2011 - insists Blues owner Roman Abramovich will not accept failure.

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is under intense pressure after losing to Manchester City

Sarri witnessed his side lose 6-0 against Manchester City at the Etihad as the West Londoners dropped down into sixth in the table.

It was Chelsea's third consecutive away defeat in the Premier League, while they are still searching for their first goal away from Stamford Bridge in 2019.

Speaking to beIN SPORTS, Clement believes that Abramovich will act accordingly should his team continue to disappoint.

He said: "There's something going on that's wrong behind the scenes.

Former Blues assistant manager Paul Clement believes Roman Abramovich could wield the axe on Sarri

"What I do know for sure is that the club will not accept that. The owner will not accept that.

"History shows that when the team is not playing at the level that is required, and expected for a club like that and what they've achieved over the years, they do take measures. They will act."

Blues supporters have called for Sarri to get sacked after Chelsea suffered their worst defeat in Premier League history.

While he also snubbed a handshake from Pep Guardiola following the full-time whistle as he made his way down the tunnel.

The odds Sarri getting axed plummeted to 13-8 — with Zinedine Zidane and Laurent Blanc in the frame to replace him at Stamford Bridge

And he insisted his Chelsea job hangs in the balance after his side were hit for six against the Citizens.

He said: "I don’t know. You have to ask the club. I am worried about my team, I’m worried about the performance. But my job is always at risk.”
