The France international has already declined a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain beyond the summer and this has recently witnessed him excluded from the club's first-team duties.

Amidst this, Spurs have been regularly linked with the 23-year-old but according to The Star, they could miss out on his signature due to interest from other top-profile clubs.

Rabiot has envisaged the desire to play for Barcelona over the years and it is suggested that the Blaugrana could compete with
Liverpool
for the Frenchman's signature during the summer.

Spurs are currently eight points behind the top of the Premier League standings but the deficit could be reduced to five, should they win their game in hand against
Burnley
later in the month.

The Blues usually arrive to training at 2pm, but the stony-faced squad cruised into Cobham three hours earlier than planned for a warm down.

Sarri has no time to waste before his team fly to Sweden to face Malmo in the Europa League later this week.

Chelsea have now slumped to sixth in the Premier League table after Pep Guardiola's side ran riot at the Etihad.

Sergio Aguero bagged a hat-trick, Raheem Sterling scored twice and Ilkay Gundogan found the net to pile the pressure on Sarri.

Sarri clearly had a sour taste in his mouth after the match when he refused to shake Guardiola's hand.

And his players looked disheartened as they rocked up to training in their fleet of incredible supercars.

After the devastating defeat to City, Sarri admitted that his job at Stamford Bridge is hanging in the balance.

When he was asked if he feared the sack, he said: "I don't know. You have to ask the club.

And the Blues boss, who took over from Antonio Conte in July 2018, took a swipe at club owner Roman Abramovich.

He said: "If the president calls, I'll be happy, seeing as I never hear from him."

But pundit Gary Neville believes that Chelsea sacking the 60-year-old would show the club are "weak."

Chelsea legend Frank Lampard favourite to become new boss with Sarri fighting to keep job after Man City humiliation

The Italian boss, 60, admitted his job is on the line after Sunday's devastating 6-0 defeat to Manchester City.

And bookmakers have named the Derby County manager at Stamford Bridge legend as the most likely candidate to become the next permanent boss.

Zinedine Zidane, Gianfranco Zola, Diego Simeone, Brendan Rodgers and Jose Mourinho are all also in the running.

But Lampard, who spent 13 years playing for the Blues, is the favourite with 2/1 odds.

The legendary England international, 40, has made an encouraging start to his managerial career with the Rams this season.

Sunday's defeat to Manchester City piled the pressure on Maurizio Sarri

He has guided his side to seventh in the Championship, with 14 wins and eight draws from 30 matches.

His side came close to causing a huge upset, but the Blues won 3-2 after two own goals and a strike from Cesc Fabregas.

Sarri fuelled speculation that his days are numbered at Chelsea after his side were thrashed at the Etihad.

"I am worried about my team, I'm worried about the performance. But my job is always at risk."

And he took a cheeky swipe at club owner Roman Abramovich for not getting in touch with him.

He said: "If the president calls, I'll be happy, seeing as I never hear from him. To be honest, I don't know what to expect.

"I didn't see my football. At the beginning of the season it worked. Now we need to understand the reasons why it isn't working. It is not easy."
