ARSENAL loan flop Denis Suarez is reportedly close to signing for La Liga outfit Celta Vigo on a permanent deal from Barcelona.
Suarez left Barca for Arsenal on loan in January, but the 25-year-old managed just six appearances after being ruled out of the last 10 games through groin injury.
The Gunners had the option to sign the 25-year-old on a permanent basis after his loan expired, but after failing to impress Emirates chiefs Suarez returned to Spain.
According to Mundodeportivo Barca bosses met with Celta on Saturday to thrash out a deal for the midfielder.
It is understood the clubs have reached an “definitive agreement” and Suarez will sign a four-year deal.
Spanish champions Barca are holding out for £13.5million, plus add-ons that could lead to Suarez’s becoming Celta’s most expensive signing.
The departure of the midfielder comes as Nou Camp chiefs plot a clearance in order to re-sign Neymar, having sold the Brazilian star for a record £198m in 2017.
It is thought ex-Liverpool man Philippe Coutinho could be included in a deal to sign Neymar, but Frenchman Ousmane Dembele will not be sold.
Croatian playmaker Ivan Rakitic is also a potential casualty, and Spanish reports claim Manchester United have approached Barca twice regarding a transfer.
It is understood Nou Camp chiefs are willing to sell the Croatian, but will demand £45m.
United were said to have opened their interest in with an offer of £31.5m - but were rebuffed with their approach.
