WEST HAM will turn to Duvan Zapata in a £40million deal after missing out on Maxi Gomez.
Colombia international Zapata is now Manuel Pellegrini's No1 target to lead his attack next season.
The 28-year-old scored 28 goals for Atalanta last season while on loan from Serie A rivals Sampdoria.
And Pellegrini wants him to step in following Marko Arnautovic's move to China.
Celta Vigo striker Gomez was a target but he is heading to Valencia to stay in Spain.
But Zapata should be available for the right price to finally become a Hammer after they were interested in him earlier in his career.
BALOTELLI AN OPTION
And there is a cheaper option that could become available.
The former Manchester City and Liverpool striker is currently without a club after leaving Marseille.
Balotelli, 28, bagged eight times in 12 games during his six-month spell with the French side but opted against extending his deal.
