Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham has revealed that his team will be looking to 'take their anger out on Liverpool' when they face the Reds in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The Blues suffered a 1-0 defeat to Valencia in their Champions League group opener on Tuesday night.

Frank Lampard's side will have the opportunity to bounce back when they face Jurgen Klopp's side in the league this weekend, though, and Abraham has said that the team will be fired-up after their European defeat.

"(Sunday) is a test of character. We can take our anger out against Liverpool. It's a massive game and both teams will be going to win. We'll look forward to putting (last night's defeat) right," Abraham told reporters.

Abraham has made a flying start to the 2019-20 campaign with seven goals in seven appearances - including a hat-trick in the 5-2 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at the weekend.

Chelsea are currently sixth in the Premier League table with eight points, although the capital side are yet to win on home soil this term.

Mount’s X-ray reveals no ligament damage and Chelsea star could still face Liverpool on Sunday after horror foul

CHELSEA are refusing to give up hope of Mason Mount playing in Sunday’s blockbuster clash with Liverpool.

The Chelsea midfielder suffered a sprained ankle which forced him out of Tuesday’s Champions League defeat against Valencia after 15 minutes.

But there is no significant damage and it is understood that in-form Mount has ‘an outside chance’ of recovering in time to face the Premier League leaders. Chelsea will continue to assess ahead of the weekend.

Mount was crocked by a ferocious tackle from former Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin and limped off some minutes later.

He has been a key player in only his first season as a Chelsea regular scoring three goals and earning his England debut earlier this month.

His midfield team-mate Ross Barkley is sticking with his job of Chelsea penalty taker.

Barkley missed a spot kick in Tuesday’s shock 1-0 home defeat to Valencia in the Champions League amid controversy.

His concentration was hampered by a stand-off with team-mate Willian who wanted to take it instead.

Barkley said: “When I’m on the pitch, I’ll take the penalty. Obviously I didn’t execute it right but everybody misses penalties. I didn’t score the goal but I felt confident.

“If there was another penalty in the game, I would have been confident to take the pen. You can miss penalties. It’s not the end of the world. We’ve got five more games in the group stage aiming to win but this didn’t go our way.

“It was a disappointing night all round. Our first game in the group stage, our first game at home as well, disappointing. And I’m gutted that I missed a penalty as well.

“We’ve got a lot of good penalty-takers in the squad and on a sheet in the changing rooms it says I’m on penalties if I’m on the pitch.

"Otherwise, its Jorginho. But all players, sometimes you feel confident.”

Rap legend Jay-Z looks far from thrilled as he meets Leicester star James Maddison at Puma event

JAY-Z looked more like Jay-ZZZZ when he met ardent fan and Manchester United target James Maddison.

The sad-faced rapper almost turned into a napper, whereas gleeful Leicester midfielder Maddison appeared as if he had just scored a cup final winner when they posed for photos.

James Maddison joked Jay-Z was "with a fan" as the superstar pair mingled at an event for sportswear giant Puma

England hopeful Maddison took the chance of a snap with Beyonce's husband Jay-Z at a Puma event.

And the ex-Norwich star posted the resulting pictures on social media, with the jokey caption: "James Maddison with a fan."

Meeting hip-hop hero Jay-Z was the perfect way for Maddison to shrug off the disappointment of being left on the bench as the Three Lions won two Euro qualifiers last week.

Maddison remained uncapped at senior level after former England Under-21 team-mate Mason Mount came on ahead of him in both the 4-0 win over Bulgaria at Wembley and the 5-3 success over Kosovo at Southampton.

And although Jay-Z initially appeared as if he had got a glum deal in meeting Maddison, the music legend lightened up as he grinned and chatted freely with the 22-year-old.

Maddison, of course, could not resist putting up more snaps of the unlikely duo.

In one caption he labelled the 49-year-old American "an inspiring, humble, top guy. Great to meet you Jay. Blessed."

Back on the pitch, Maddison's early-season form has surpassed even his breakthrough campaign for the Foxes last term.

With Manchester City and Liverpool among his many admirers. the playmaker has already supplied two assists in five games for Leicester.

Just this week, in fact, Old Trafford boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was linked with a £60million-plus move for Maddison next summer.

That would follow United's signing of Leicester and England centre-back Harry Maguire for £85m, a world record for a defender.

As Jay-Z's wife Beyonce might say, it seems Old Trafford chiefs are Crazy in Love with the Foxes' hottest home-grown talent.
