Chelsea star Christopher Nkunku sidelined with knee injury
Chelsea star Christopher Nkunku could be sidelined for weeks after sustaining a knee injury against Borussia Dortmund.
The France international officially joined the Blues from Leipzig this summer, and he has been impressive in pre-season.
However, he won't be available for the start of the league campaign after picking up a knee problem earlier this week.
The setback has ruled him out of the curtain raiser against Liverpool . He could miss plenty of more games for the club.
The injury is not expected to be a long-term one, but Chelsea may want to be cautious with him. They could delay his debut.
In the absence of Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson is expected to lead the attack.
The Senegal international has also been promising since his move from Villarreal and has the opportunity to impress.
Regardless of Nkunku's fitness, Chelsea are already pushing to sign another marquee striker before the transfer window closes.
Juventus' Dusan Vlahovic is on the radar of the west London giants.
