Chelsea set to make offer to sign USA midfielder
Chelsea are set to make an offer to sign Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams in the coming days, according to The Telegraph.
The USA international joined the Whites from RB Leipzig last summer, and he stood out for them despite his injury problems.
Adams is currently with the first-team squad, but he could head for the exit door soon due to a low relegation release clause (£20m).
Chelsea have been made aware of the figure, and they are expected to make a formal approach to sign him in the near future.
Instead of triggering the clause, the Blues are prepared to pay slightly more in order to negotiate a long-term payment plan.
Adams has yet to agree personal terms with the Blues, but it could be a formality once a transfer fee is sorted with Leeds.
The west London giants are planning to sign Adams irrespective of their pursuit of Moises Caicedo . They want two new holding midfielders.
