Raphael Varane says Man Utd can win the Champions League
Manchester United defender Raphael Varane believes the club have the capacity to win the Champions League this season.
The Red Devils have had a poor start to the campaign and they are currently 10th in the Premier League with only nine points on the board.
Meanwhile, the club recently suffered a 4-3 loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League opener. They were second best for most of the game.
United now host Galatasaray in the group stage of the competition and speaking ahead of the game, Varane was positive about the club's credentials.
He said: "Yes, I think so. I think we have the quality in the squad to win the competition. As I said, the competition is difficult."
"You have to take care about every detail. But yeah, we have a team with quality, with good mentality."
United are favourites to beat Galatasaray at Old Trafford. They will be hoping to secure maximum points against the Turkish champions.
Varane is likely to be partnered by Victor Lindelof in central defence with Lisandro Martinez out for the next few months with a foot surgery.
