Man Utd looked to sign Inter Milan striker last summer
Manchester United were interested in landing the signature of Marcus Thuram on a free transfer last summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Red Devils wanted to sign a marquee marksman over the summer and Thuram's name was mentioned by several outlets in Europe.
Romano has now revealed that he was discussed as an option by the Red Devils hierarchy before they turned their attention to Rasmus Hojlund .
Hojlund was signed for around €85 million from Atalanta BC as manager Erik ten Hag preferred a younger striker who is more traditional.
The Dane has yet to score in the Premier League this campaign, but he has already hit his stride in the Champions League with three goals.
He has all the attributes to become a world-class star in future. Thuram would have been a good signing too, looking at his Inter stats.
The Frenchman signed for them on a free from Borussia Monchengladbach. He has amassed nine goal involvements from as many games.
