'They didn't surprise us': Reece James reacts after Chelsea's defeat at Man Utd
Chelsea captain Reece James has said that his team were not surprised by the intensity shown by Manchester United in yesterday's Premier League clash.
The Blues had a difficult outing against the Red Devils and they were in the back foot from the off, conceding a penalty after seven minutes into the game.
Robert Sanchez managed to deny Bruno Fernandes , but Scott McTominay scored soon after. The Blues pulled level through Cole Palmer before the break, but they always looked vulnerable at the back.
McTominay scored his second goal of the game to put the game to bed. Speaking after the 2-1 defeat, James said that it is tough to say why the Blues were on the losing side against the Red Devils.
He said: "We knew Manchester United are an amazing team and coming here would be hard. They didn’t surprise us. It’s tough to say why we lost, but we have to move on."
The Chelsea skipper added that the Blues had plenty of chances to find the back of the net in either half. They were unable to capitalise while United were more clinical with their goalscoring opportunities.
