Mauricio Pochettino confirms Chelsea midfielder is injured
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that midfielder Enzo Fernandez is ruled out of the Wolverhampton Wanderers game with a hernia injury.
The Argentine had a disappointing opening half against Newcastle United in midweek. He was substituted after just 32 minutes on the clock.
It was initially deemed that he was unwell for the contest but Pochettino has now revealed that he was taken off as a result of an injury.
He said: "Enzo is going to be out of the game against Wolverhampton. You already have the information that it was a hernia and he also didn’t feel well. We are going to give treatment with the doctor."
The Blues are currently 10th in the standings with 22 points and will be hoping for back-to-back league wins when they face Wolves on the road.
The club have been highly inconsistent for most of the campaign and it remains to be seen whether they will turn up for the Christmas Eve game.
