Man Utd pressing to sign Dutch striker in January
Manchester United are pressing to sign Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee during the January transfer window, according to Calciomercato.
The Dutchman has been in good form for the Serie A outfit this term with eight goals and four assists across all competitions.
United have been watching him closely in recent weeks and it is claimed that they are prepared to trigger his release clause in January.
Zirkzee currently has a buy-out clause of €40m in his contract and it remains to be seen whether he would be tempted to join United.
Bayern also have the option to re-sign him for €20m. So far, the German champions have not made any approach to land his services.
This suggests that they are happy for him to move elsewhere. Zirkzee could be seen as a direct competitor to Rasmus Hojlund at United.
Hojlund netted five goals during the Champions League group stage but he has not opened his league account after 14 appearances.
Zirkzee's arrival in January could coincide with the departure of Anthony Martial whose contract expires at the end of the season.
