Mauricio Pochettino praises Chelsea star after Luton win
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has heaped praise on Cole Palmer following his sublime performance against Luton Town in the Premier League.
The Blues ended the year on a high with a 3-2 victory over Luton on the road. They raced into a comfortable three-goal lead but had a nervy finish with the comeback from the hosts.
Speaking after the game, Pochettino was delighted with the showing from Palmer, who was undoubtedly the man of the match with two goals and an assist to his name.
He said: "What can I say? It is obvious he is an important player for us, a decisive player. Then scoring goals like this, I am so pleased with him and the team."
Palmer has been a revelation for the Blues since his move from Manchester City. He has now registered eight goals and four assists across all competitions.
Despite the win, the Blues remain 10th in the league standings but they are now much closer to the teams above them. Just three points separate them from seventh-placed Manchester United.
