Tottenham ready to battle Chelsea for Spanish winger
Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to provide competition to Chelsea in the race to Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams
Williams has had a brilliant campaign with Bilbao, scoring six goals and providing 11 assists from 27 appearances in all competitions.
He only signed a new contract in December last year, but could still leave this summer due to a low €50 million release clause.
The Blues are contemplating over the prospect of signing him, but they are set to face competition from Spurs, as per Mirror.
Tottenham registered a stunning 4-0 win over Aston Villa at Villa Park today.
This has put them within two points off Villa for the fourth spot. They could leapfrog the Midlands outfit with their game in hand.
Hence, they are in control of their own Champions League destiny. This could put them in a strong position to land Williams.
Williams could prefer playing in the competition with Spurs rather than enduring a season without Europe with the Blues.
