Erik ten Hag praises Man Utd star after FA Cup goal
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag heaped praise on Marcus Rashford for the resilience shown during the FA Cup quarter-final against Liverpool.
The England international was guilty of missing a few clear-cut chances on goal, but he eventually scored a crucial equaliser to make it 3-3.
Amad Diallo stole the headlines with his late winner in extra time, but Ten Hag was also appreciative of the commitment from Rashford.
He said: "Rashford is resilient, he keeps going, normally he finishes those moments but he kept going for another chance. That inspired the other players."
United started the FA Cup tie as big underdogs, considering the form. Liverpool are 17 points ahead of the Red Devils in the league table.
They made a quick start off the blocks, but seemed to lose control at half-time. Nonetheless, they kept going and managed to secure a surprise win.
The victory should give them plenty of momentum after the international break as they look to qualify for the Champions League with a top-four league finish.
