Chelsea ready to hand new contract to playmaker
Chelsea are ready to hand a new long-term contract to Cole Palmer amid his stellar performances in his debut season.
The England international joined the Blues from Manchester City for £40 million last summer and he has been brilliant for them.
Palmer has been the stand-out performer in the Blues attack, registering 18 goals and 12 assists from 38 appearances in all competitions for the club.
His performances have convinced the hierarchy to improve his salary. The Telegraph claim that a new contract is on the horizon.
Palmer is currently on a weekly package of £80,000 and he is expected to be rewarded with a significant increase amid his exploits.
The Blues could ideally wait until the end of the season to finalise terms in order to avoid any distraction over the coming weeks.
Chelsea seem likely to miss out on European football via the Premier League, but they could still make the Europa League by winning the FA Cup.
