Man Utd determined to sign Portuguese wonderkid?
Manchester United are said to be determined to sign Benfica wonderkid Joao Neves during the upcoming transfer window.
The Red Devils are likely to make multiple changes to the team this summer and a new holding midfielder could be signed.
Casemiro could be offloaded with interest from Saudi Pro League clubs and Record claim that Neves could succeed him.
The club have watched him on numerous occasions in the last year and they are now very determined to secure his services.
However, they face a huge stumbling block as Benfica are reluctant to accept anything less than his €120m release clause.
Benfica could accept a long-term payment plan, but United are in no position to meet the financial demands for Neves.
The club have a low budget of only €40m before player sales and any deal for Neves could depend on several outgoings.
That is far easier said than done. Hence, we don't see the possibility of United signing the highly-rated ace from Benfica.
