'What a talent': Kyle Walker praises Man Utd star after FA Cup final
Manchester City defender Kyle Walker heaped praise on Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo following the FA Cup final.
The Red Devils stunned the Cityzens to win the famous old trophy at the Wembley Stadium. Mainoo scored the decider in the 39th minute.
Speaking after the game, Walker was asked about Mainoo's performance.
In response, he said: "Listen, what a talent. Hopefully, he can take his form from that he’s shown this season, breaking into the team, into the Euros this summer."
Mainoo has made huge progress since breaking through the first-team in late 2023. He is currently an undisputed starter under manager Erik ten Hag.
The youngster also impressed for the Three Lions in his first two caps back in March and he is a front-runner to make the Euro 2024 squad next month.
Mainoo has shown plenty of maturity at such a young age and he could potentially line up alongside Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham in midfield.
