Man Utd now want to sign 21yo Bundesliga striker
Manchester United have made an enquiry over Hoffenheim striker Maximilian Beier this week, according to SportBild.
The Red Devils are aiming to land a new marksman this summer with
Anthony Martial set to leave at the end of the month.
Martial had another injury-plagued season with the club and the decision has been made to release him when his deal expires on June 30.
Beier has been identified as a potential successor by United, but he won't come on the cheap due to his release clause worth £28m.
Hoffenheim are reluctant to accept anything less for the 21-year-old, who netted 16 goals in the German top-flight last season.
Beier is considered as one of the future stars of German football and it is left to be seen whether United make such an outlay.
Liverpool and Nottingham Forest have also been credited with an interest in the youngster, but they have now contacted Hoffenheim.
United consider him as a potential deputy for Rasmus Hojlund .
