Jhon Duran needs to lower wage demands to join Chelsea
Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran needs to lower his wage demands to join Chelsea this summer, according to The Telegraph.
The Blues are keen on landing a new centre-forward ahead of next season and Duran has been earmarked as their priority target.
However, a deal is far from straightforward at the moment due to the striker's wage requirements as well as his off-field attitude.
The Blues have not pulled the plug on negotiations and they are willing to sign him, provided his salary demands are lowered.
Should they make a breakthrough, Villa are also prepared to sign Ian Maatsen from the Blues in a separate deal before June 30.
This would help the Blues to balance their books. Chelsea are looking at alternatives if Duran does not make the move from Villa.
Apart from Duran, they are interested in Atletico Madrid's Samu Omorodion and reports claim that an opening bid has been made.
Atletico are reluctant to sell him on the cheap while Omorodion prefers to continue his development with the Madrid giants next term.
