Chelsea agree to pay Michael Olise's release clause
Chelsea look set to sign Michael Olise ahead of Manchester United after agreeing to pay his release clause, according to Foot Mercato.
The Frenchman had an injury-plagued season with Crystal Palace in the Premier League, but he was still impressive with 16 goal involvements.
Olise clearly has the potential to become an elite winger and the Blues are now in advanced negotiations to land his signature from Palace.
They have already informed Palace that they will be triggering his £60 million release clause, but the final decision will rest on the attacker.
Olise is eager to join a Champions League outfit, but the chance to reunite with Chelsea and stay in London appears to be attractive too.
United are also big admirers of the former Reading man, but they are reluctant to meet the financial demands of the Eagles this summer.
The new management at the helm are reluctant to pay over the odds and are unlikely to enter a transfer battle with Chelsea for Olise.
