Man Utd hand new short-term contract to Englishman
Manchester United have handed a fresh one-year contract to goalkeeper Tom Heaton.
The Red Devils currently have Andre Onana as their first-choice keeper with Altay Bayindir being his deputy.
Heaton is the third choice in the squad. He did not make a single appearance in the recent campaign for United.
The former Burnley man has just three appearances in his United career thus far, but he has decided to stay put.
Heaton had the chance to secure playing time elsewhere, but he has been persuaded to stay for another year.
Meanwhile, there is no update from the club on defender Jonny Evans whose contract expired on June 30.
The Northern Irishman has been in negotiations over a one-year deal too, but there is no update as things stand.
The club have also not given up on keeping Sofyan Amrabat , though they will need to discuss fresh transfer terms.
The buy clause in his loan contract expired on June 30.
