DEJAN LOVREN has been hit with a one game international ban by UEFA for goading Sergio Ramos.

The Liverpool defender has been handed the ban for making comments about Ramos after Croatia's 3-2 Nations League Group A4 victory over Spain in November.

Lovren was handed the ban for comments he made on social media

Lovren branded Spanish players "rude on the pitch" and went on to brag about elbowing Ramos.

The Liverpool man went on to claim he '“Elbowed (Ramos) good," before celebrating his sides win.

Lovren said: “Haha! 3-2, go ahead and talk now, buddy, buddy. They are a bunch of p*****s."

UEFA have claimed Lovren’s actions meant he fell foul of a clause in its disciplinary rules.

The Liverpool man was penalised as the clause states: "Whose conduct is insulting or otherwise violates the basic rules of decent conduct".

Lovren’s suspension means he will be ruled out of Croatia’s Euro 2020 qualifier at home to Azerbaijan in March.

Four months before Lovren’s social media rant, Ramos was hit with criticism that he aggressively pulled Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah down to the ground in the Champions League final.

Salah would go on to be substituted in the game due to the shoulder injury that would go on to affect the Egyptain’s World Cup.
