MAURIZIO SARRI suspiciously ditched his usual Chelsea tracksuit for training following yesterday's 6-0 defeat to Manchester City.

The under-fire Italian, 60, looked like he was feeling the pressure after he revealed his job at Stamford Bridge is hanging in the balance.

Maurizio Sarri's side are sixth in the Premier League table after 26 games

Since he took over from Antonio Conte in July 2018, superstitious Sarri has regularly rocked up to Cobham in his team tracksuit.

But the 60-year-old switched up his look as he joined his squad for an early training session on Monday.

He fuelled speculation that his days are numbered when he arrived in a plain outfit - without a Chelsea badge in sight.

Sarri wore navy tracksuit bottoms, a jumper, a gilet and a scarf as he prepared his side for Thursday's Europa League match against Malmo.

Maurizio Sarri will be hoping his side can bounce back from the 6-0 defeat to Man City

After the Chelsea training session, a source told The Sun: "The atmosphere at the training ground today has been awful.

"Nobody looked happy at all. Even the more cheery players couldn't find a smile.

"Sarri kept himself to himself and his body language wasn't great."

Sarri is renowned for being very superstitious and he likes to keep his traditions the same because he believes it will bring his team good luck.

During his time in charge of Napoli, the perfectionist would always park in the same spot in the team car park.

And he would drink espressos at set times everyday as he oversaw training sessions.

Sarri even made his Empoli players scoff margarita pizzas after matches because he thought it would bring them luck.

So Sarri's Monday makeover could be a sign of things to come in the Chelsea camp.

The Blues are knuckling down ahead of this week's clash against Malmo

After Sunday's shocking defeat at the Etihad, Sarri admitted that his job is on the line and that he is worried about his team.

But Chelsea hinted he will be staying put after they confirmed he will lead Wednesday's press conference.

Club legend Frank Lampard has already emerged as an early favourite to replace him at Stamford Bridge.

SunSport revealed that just over half of Chelsea supporters (55 per cent) want to see Sarri axed after they dropped to sixth in the table.
