ARSENAL knocked London rivals Chelsea out of the top four after the Gunners took three points from Watford.

A first-half Pierre-Emerick Aubamynag goal, which was scored by closing down Watford stopper Ben Foster, was enough for Unai Emery’s side to return to fourth.

Arsenal knocked London rivals Chelsea out of the top four after the Gunners took three points from Watford

With one-eye on their Europa League quarter-final second leg against Napoli next Thursday, Arsenal had both poor and positive individual performances.

Here’s how SunSport rated and slated them.

Made a good reaction save 20 minutes in to deny Craig Cathcart with his legs. Prevented a certain goal from an Etienne Capoue free-kick that saw him brilliant stretch to his left hand top corner.

Made a crucial clearance when Andre Gray pulled the ball across goal. Covered the left side of his defence well enough but looked on tired legs at times.

Had a quiet game and looks physically strong but often found himself struggling positionally before being taken off for Matteo Guendouzi.

Leno kept Arsenal in the lead on two occasions as the German had a good night at Watford

Allowed Andre Gray through on goal after being outpaced with a ball over the top but Monreal dealt with the cross in. Showed leadership and commitment in the heart of defence.

Forced to play at right-back and his lack of pace and positioning was exposed at times. Looked uncomfortable with the ball at his feet when he needed to drive forward.

Had a quiet game in the centre of midfield not getting on the ball too often but never caught making errors but equally no shots on goal or killer passes.

Centre-half Mustafi had a poor game playing at right-back

The midfielder was elbowed by Watford skipper Troy Deeney, who was shown a red card. Torreira lacked his usual energy in the centre of the park which has been so vital for Arsenal this season. Replaced by Mesut Ozil at half-time.

Had freedom to run with the ball in the No10 role, found passes to get the ball out wide to begin attacks well in the first-half. Dropped deeper with the arrival of Ozil in the second 45.

The winger got on the ball enough and looked threatening running at players with pace and power but lacked with crucial end product at times. Positive game for the winger but needs to be more clinical.

Iwobi looked threatening on the ball but lacked vital finishing product

Lacked any energy on the right hand side, and made no attempt to run in behind. Missed a golden chance to make it 2-0 from eight yards out hitting it straight at Foster before slicing two efforts horribly wide. A torrid night for the attacker.

Reacted well to steal the opener after closing down Ben Foster and seeing his deflection find home. Put himself about well to hold up the ball but lacked urgency to get into goalscorering positons.

Looked creative in his most comfortable No10 position after coming on for Torreira for the second-half and pushing Ramsey in a deeper role.

Mkhitaryan missed a golden opportunity to make it 2-0 which capped off terrible performance by the forward

Replaced Mavropanos on 59 minutes as Maitland-Niles went to right-back for Mustafi dropping back into his more comfortable centre-half role. Wasted a golden chance to put Arsenal through on goal right at the end.

Allowed Mustafi to end his poor game at right-back and made a crucial block 10 minutes from time brilliantly tracking Gray who rounded Leno but the England star blocked the shot.

Aubameyang reacted well to steal an early goal for Arsenal and worked tirelessly for the rest of the match
