Manchester United did their best to prevent Manchester City winning the Premier League title, only to go and hand it to them this weekend instead.

The Red Devils defeated Pep Guardiola's side last weekend to make sure City did not win the league championship in a local derby, but were then beaten by West Brom on Sunday to hand the title to the blue half of the City.

Manchester United's failure to win the Premier League in 2017/18 is an even bigger failure for their manager, Jose Mourinho, as it ends a run of success which has continued throughout his entire career - until now.

Incredibly, before this term, Mourinho had won a league title with every club he has managed in the second season of that spell in charge.

This record stretches all the way back to his first managerial term which occured over more than one season, with Porto in 2002/03.

But how do Mourinho's previous second seasons stack up against his current second season at Old Trafford? Click the right arrow, above, to see them all assessed...
