Mikel Arteta confirms Arsenal injury blow ahead of PSV game
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed the absence of Gabriel Martinelli for tomorrow's Champions League meeting against PSV Eindhoven.
The north London giants have made a fine start to the Premier League campaign and they have registered 13 points from the first five games.
The club will now turn focus to the Champions League group stage where they are scheduled to host PSV at the Emirates Stadium tomorrow.
Ahead of the game, Arteta has confirmed that Martinelli won't play any part after sustaining a hamstring injury against Everton away from home.
He said: "He felt something in his hamstring and we need to do some further tests to assess if there is any big damage or not but he will be out for tomorrow’s game, that’s for sure."
Arteta added that there is a possibility that Martinelli could be fit for the north London derby, but that depends on the assessment of the injury by the club's doctors.
Leandro Trossard replaced Martinelli off the bench last weekend, and scored the winning goal. He is expected to continue on the left wing in Arsenal 's first Champions League game in more than six years.
